Hobbit Finale Debuts First Teaser

The first teaser trailer for the final part of The Hobbit trilogy has debuted.

The Battle of the Five Armies – recently renamed from There and Back Again – completes Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy and is also expected to provide links into the Lord of the Rings trilogy that takes place 60 years later (the song playing over the clip does that well).

Five Armies will see Bilbo and company attempt to complete their mission to reclaim Erebor and the treasure, while also having to deal with the villainous Smaug, who was seen fleeing the mountain at the end of The Desolation of Smaug and heading for Lake-Town.

Starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Benedict Cumberbatch, Evangeline Lilly, Luke Evans, Lee Pace, Stephen Fry and Orlando Bloom, the film will be released on 12 December in the UK, and 17 December in North America.
