Marvel have announced a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel.
The film’s director and star James Gunn and Chris Pratt appeared via a video at the end of the Marvel Comic Con panel to confirm that a follow-up will be released on 28 July 2017.
The first film is due to hit cinemas next week, but already has strong early reviews, which has convinced studio bosses to push ahead with a sequel. Gunn has confirmed he will return to write the sequel;
Yes, I’m writing and directing the sequel to #GuardiansoftheGalaxy for theaters July 28 2017. But first go see the first one out next week!

Though no announcement has been made as of yet, it is expected that the first film’s main cast will return.
Guardians of the Galaxy releases on 31 July in the UK, and 1 August in North America.
