WWE have announced that JTG has also been released. This one comes as no surprise, as he has long been off TV.
WWE have today released ten superstars.
Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Aksana, Curt Hawkins, Camacho, Brodus Clay, Evan Bourne and Yoshi Tatsu have all been released from their contracts.
Additionally, longtime manager and SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long has also been let go, although in his case his contract had expired and his departure had been long expected. Referee Marc Harris has also been released.
In the case of Drew McIntyre, it is a classic ‘missed the boat’ situation, with the Scotsman getting a major push several years ago before fell down the card, ending up in 3MB with Heath Slater and (the also released) Jinder Mahal.
Bourne was regularly featured on Raw before suffering an injury in a car crash while he was suspended for a Wellness Policy violation.
Clay and Camacho had recently been used on NXT, with Clay’s final appearance for the company a clean loss to NXT champion Adrian Neville.
