Mortal Kombat X Announcement Trailer

After much teasing from Mr Ed Boon over at NetherRealm Studios it has finally been announced, the latest instalment to the MK series of fighters… Mortal Kombat X.

Along with the announcement came an announcement trailer called “Who’s Next?” (seen above) that depicts a battle between the long-time roster members, Subzero & Scorpion. As you can imagine, the trailer is pretty graphic, so you have been warned. Along with the usual fire/ice powers and the signature spear complete with “GET OVER HERE”, the video shows the return of the X-Ray close up moves that were introduced in 2011’s Mortal Kombat.

Even though the video shows now gameplay, it’s still worth watching as it hints at some of the new game’s features and not to mention it just looks plain cool! For those who may be a bit squemish however, we’ve taken some screen caps with the gruesome bits taken out for you to enjoy:

Mortal Kombat is currently slated for the ambiguous date of 2015, but more details are sure to follow at this coming E3 event. Expect this latest journey in ultra violence to come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC systems.

For more information, then head on over to the Official site for Mortal Kombat X.
