Major News on Daniel Bryan’s Championship Reign

A new WWE World Heavyweight champion will be crowned at the Money in the Bank PPV.

WWE sources have confirmed that the decision has been made to strip Daniel Bryan of the championship and put the title on the line in a Money in the Bank match at the PPV on 29 June.

The decision came when Bryan had to be sent for additional tests after he failed to respond as hoped to physical therapy. Bryan underwent neck surgery on 15 May, and WWE bosses initially hoped that he would be able to return to action at MITB, with Bryan actually being advertised for some house shows in July. Due to the type of surgery he had, many realistically expected Bryan back at SummerSlam.

It appears WWE will address the issue and likely confirm the news on tonight’s Raw, with Triple H tweeting that a major announcement will open the episode.
