E3 2014: The Witcher 3

Brand new gameplay footage from CD Projekt Red’s upcoming The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was shown during the Microsoft E3 event, showing off some gorgeous next gen visuals on the Xbox One. They let us take a look at a Gryphon hunt featured around 10 hours into the main game, with the abilities to hunt your prey using your skills such as tracking blood. This skill is shown after injuring the Gryphon and chasing after it, looking for blood splatters on the ground when it becomes out of reach.

The next portion of the demo was combat focused, showing off the improved mechanics and incredibly visceral gameplay as Geralt hacks bandits to pieces. The eventual Gryphon fight shows off magic, before fading to black as the demo comes to an end.

Something else worth noting about The Witcher 3 is CD Projekt Red have stated they will release the game finished on disc, with any DLC that may come later on being free of charge, something that they did with the second game. Which is always nice, because free is always good.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is set for release on February 24th 2015 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
