E3 2014: PlayStation Now Release Date

Sony announced today, that the PlayStation Now Beta will be launching July 31st  in North American and Canadian territories. It first be made available for PlayStation 3 from September and then again on Vita and PlayStation TV by the end of 2014. For those without a PlayStation console, PS Now will be made available to Sony Smart TV owners – providing that they also own a Duel Shock 4 controller.

From the launch of the Beta, players will have access to over 100 PlayStation titles including; God of War Ascension, Dead Space 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

With still no confirmation on costing, rental duration and pricing will be announced at a later date – though Sony Computer Entertainment have been experimenting with prices from $3 to $20. All publishers (including Indies) will reportedly have the final say apparently when it comes to cost. Subscription packages are expected to be announced at a later date also.

No news yet on European or Japanese release date confirmation as of yet but they are also in planning (sorry Australia).
