E3 2014 : Mario Maker

It wouldn’t be an E3 Nintendo show without a Mario game, well this year we have been given the gift Mario Maker.

Mario Maker allows players to create their own levels or adjust pre-existing ones – using the aesthetics from the original NES game, you can change the height of the pipes, add random koopas, flood the screen or even just trap Mario in his own little tomb. The editing interface is accessed via the Wii U GamePad and uses the stylus to allow the player to personalise the levels however they wish.

Even though it uses the items from the original NES game, players will be able to choose to use that or switch to the modern style of New Super Mario Bros. U depending if you prefer smooth graphics to pixel perfection. Nintendo promises that this is a game for everyone; be it a total newbie who just wants to play around to the seasoned Mario pro who wants new challenges, this is a game for all to enjoy.

Mario Maker is due to be released in the early part of 2015.
