Marvel’s Ant-Man Loses it’s Director

Edgar Wright has departed Ant-Man.

Wright, who has been working on the project for eight years, has parted ways with Marvel ‘due to differences in their vision of the film’. Reportedly the split was amicable, and the studio already have another director lined up to take Wright’s place, though their identity is still unknown.

Stories of differences in the camps come as somewhat of a surprise, given that Wright has put so much time into the film, with a script being in place for some time now and both he and Marvel president Kevin Feige speaking multiple times about looking forward to seeing Wright’s project on the big-screen.

The film is currently in pre-production, with a release date of July 17 2015 apparently unaffected by this news.

Ant-Man will star Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Patrick Wilson, Corey Stoll and Evangeline Lilly.
