Daniel Bryan to Have Neck Surgery; Future and Title Reign Unknown

WWE World Heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan is to undergo neck surgery which will reportedly put him out of action for 6-8 weeks.

On last night’s episode of Raw, Bryan announced that he was having surgery this coming Thursday, and that “there’s a chance” his career could be over, though how much of that particular statement was true is unknown.

Since last night more news has come out, with current speculation saying the surgery is to repair a broken neck, but that the break is minor. The current plan is for Bryan to return to the ring at SummerSlam, due to take place on August 17. WWE are reportedly waiting on the outcome of the surgery before making a decision on whether to strip Bryan of the championship and come up with plans on a new champion.
