Movie Trailer Round Up – SuperBowl Special

In recent years one of the more anticipated parts of the SuperBowl is the collection of movie trailers that make their debut to a worldwide TV audience of millions. And as we are not covering the SuperBowl here, of course all we care about are the trailers!

Check back soon for a look at the latest and hottest trailers, and keep an eye (and ear) out for future episodes of the Reel Big Flix Podcast.

And let’s start with one of the most anticipated films of 2014. Marvel return to the big screen with The Winter Soldier, Captain America’s second solo foray. Taking place after the events of The Avengers, The Winter Soldier has been described as a “political thriller” though anyone concerned this would mean a reduction in the amount of action involved will most certainly have had their fears put to rest with the release of this latest trailer. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johannson, Samuel L. Jackson and Sebastian Stan return to the Marvel Universe, along with newcomers Anthony Mackie and Robert Redford.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released on March 28.

Michael Bay returns once more with the Autobots and Decepticons for a fourth Transformers outing in Age of Extinction, and this time he has a brand new cast. Shia LeBeouf is out and Mark Wahlberg is in, alongside Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer. The film is a sequel to Dark of the Moon, taking place four years later. The trailer also gives us a first big-screen appearance of the Dinobots.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is due for release on June 27.

The world’s favourite webslinger is back, and he has a host of enemies once again, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Andrew Garfield returns under the mask, and again joined by Emma Stone. Providing Spider-Man’s enemies this time around are Jamie Foxx’s Electro, Dane DeHaan’s Harry Osbourne and Paul Giamatti’s Rhino.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is out on May 2 2014.

Kermit and the gang are back in Muppets Most Wanted, and everyone’s favourite frog has a villain with a distinct advantage…they look the same. This Twitter-heavy trailer promises as much fun and music as the first film, and most likely another star-studded cameo line-up. Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and Ty Burrell are the live-action names.

Muppets Most Wanted releases on March 21.
