Samsung Unveils Galaxy Round Handset

Samsung have unveiled the world’s first curved display smartphone.

The Galaxy Round comes with a 5.7-inch 1080p curved AMOLED screen, unlike any existing phone currently available.

The phone – which of course will run Android – measures in at 7.9mm thick and weights just 154g. It comes complete with a 13-megapixel rear-camera as well as a 2-megapixel front facing camera. Inside it boasts a 2.3GHz quad-core processor, has 3GB of RAM and also a 2800mAh battery.

The innovative curved screen uses what Samsung calls ‘Round Interaction’ when the phone is tilted on a flat surface, providing information to the user while the home screen is off, such as date, time and any missed calls.

Hold off on breaking open the wallets though, as the Round will only be released in South Korea initially, with Samsung yet to announce any plans to release the phone elsewhere.
