New Godzilla trailer roars online [update: no it doesn’t]

[Update]

Bad news, Warner Bros. have pulled the video, so it would appear that it was not quite the right time for this particular clip to go public. Seeing as this trailer was the one aired at Comic-Con 2012, when production hadn’t begun yet and only concept art existed, expect the official teaser – whenever it comes – to feature if not all, then at least some of, the clip shown to audiences at the Con this year.

[Original Post]

A teaser trailer has debuted for the Godzilla reboot.

Seeking to remove the memory of Roland Emmerich’s much-maligned 1998 version of the Japanese monster movie, this clip was actually first shown at Comic Con 2012, but has now been released as the film’s first teaser.

Where to start with that?

The unmistakable roar, the original source-honouring appearance of the titular character himself, and what about the fact that we appeared to see a second monster? And this is just a teaser.

Breaking Bad‘s Bryan Cranston stars, alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen. Godzilla is due for release on May 16 2014.
