We’ve all been there. You’re driving down the road, minding your own business, when a hoard of zombies descend upon you and try to eat your brains and leave you a bloody, brain-less mess.
And unless you have some sort of weapon, or you’re an enterprising former Sheriff, or brandishing a handy crossbow, you may find yourself in a slight spot of bother. Rejoice then, because Hyundai are coming to your aid:
What you are looking at is the result of a competition started by the car manufacturer to design the a Walking Dead vehicle. Using the Walking Dead Chop Shop online and mobile app, potential designers can draft up the ultimate zombie-killing machine, customising either a Hyundai Veloster Turbo, Santa Fe or Elantra, choosing to decorate it with guns and other weapons.
Anson Kuo’s knife-adorned Santa Fe SUV was chosen as the winner out of over 82,000 submissions, and Hyundai will now begin work on the vehicle, which will be shown off at next year’s Comic-Con. The company’s marketing chief Steve Shannon said of the winning submission:
“We love Anson Kuo’s take on this Santa Fe Zombie Survival Machine – it’s creative… and deadly.”
“With help from the popularity of the Walking Dead franchise, Hyundai continues to expand the conversation around Hyundai vehicles with young and passionate audiences.”
Season four of The Walking Dead is due to start on October 13.
