SEGA SAMMY to Acquire Atlus Parent Company

SEGA, of rather their parent company SEGA SAMMY Holdings are reportedly acquiring Index Corporation, which is the parent company of Tokyo based Publisher and developer Atlus. According to separate reports from Bloomberg and Nikkei the acquisition (which is allegedly worth ¥14 billion/£88m/$141m) will take place during this coming November.

This deal follows news that Index Corporation had filed for Civil Rehabilitation back in June, which was followed by reports that 20 companies showed interest in the company, including SEGA.


Atlas was originally established in 1986 and since then has created many criticly well received games such as Catherine, Shin Megami Tensei, Trauma Center and the Persona series of titles.
