Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has been delayed, and will no longer be out in 2015 as expected.
The director was speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, and confirmed that script issues have caused the delay:
“We have an outline everyone loves but the script is not done. It’s all a factor. We want a script that everyone’s signed off on and a budget that everyone’s signed off on. Coming up with a great script is always hard.”
While this will likely be disappointing news to fans of the franchise, it has to been as somewhat of a silver lining. Bruckheimer added that he hopes to have the film out in 2016, which moves it out of the extremely busy Summer 2015 movie blockbuster slate, already packed with films such as Man of Steel 2 and The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
