Nissan unveil smartwatch concept

It would seem that the smartwatch wars have truly begun.

Last week Samsung unveiled their offering in the Galaxy Gear, which received mixed reviews from industry experts but now a car manufacturer is joining the market.

Nissan have released a concept video at the Frankfurt Motor Show demonstrating the first ever smartwatch specifically for a vehicle. Put together for Nissan’s Nismo performance cars, the watch will bring car-related stats to the drivers wrist.

The watch is designed to record everything from the driver’s bio-metrics to fuel consumption and performance information.

The battery life certainly puts Samsung to shame with expectations of seven days’ use between charges. In addition the watch pairs to the car using Bluetooth and brings in details from Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

No release has been given yet but the new 370z Nismo is set to go on sale in Europe very soon.
