It’s time for another Nintendo Direct and today the focus is aimed straight at the upcoming 3DS titles Pokémon X & Pokémon Y. We’ve gone though the presentation video and listed all of the highlights for you below. If you’d like to see the whole think for yourself then you can do so at the bottom of the page. Players of Pokémon Black 2 & Pokémon White 2 will be able to carry on their adventures into X & Y, specifically with their chosen Pokémon line-ups as a transfer option will be available using the game’s Poké Transporter feature. Transferred Pokémon will be stored in a Cloud Save System (called Pokémon Bank), which can be searched and filtered to find the particular ones you want. Pokémon Bank will allow you to store up to 3000 Pokémon and is app that you will need to purchase and download, no information on costing just yet though. Breaking away from tradition as titles progress, new starting players will be able to choose from six starting Pokémon as appose to three. Avalible starting Pokémon will be Chespin, Froakie and Fennekin, who will be joined by the classic trio Bulbasaur, Charmander and (my favorite), Squirtle. Each of the three classic starters will have Mega Evolution breeds that must be unlocked during your adventures, they are: Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard and Mega Blastoise.
Two new Special Edition 3DS XL handheld consoles will be made available to celebrate the launch of Pokémon X & Y. Xerneas will be feature on the red edition, while Yvetal will appear in the blue. These new themed handhelds will be heading North America and Europe markets from the 27th September, almost two weeks ahead of the game’s actual release date. No work yet if a downloadable title will come with the systems. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are set to launch worldwide from the 12th October for the Nintendo 3DS platforms.
