Michael Rooker has hinted that Guardians of the Galaxy may get a sequel.
The Walking Dead star Rooker – who plays Yondu in James Gunn’s intergalactic superhero movie – was speaking to SuperHeroHype and appeared to reveal that stories he has read in the Guardians comics may not make it into next year’s release, opening the possibilities up to further big-screen outings.
“When I first got the role of Yondu, Gunn was like, ‘Don’t read any of the comics!’ but it’s beautiful stuff, Whenever you do a film of comic book characters and stuff you don’t know how much you can show, you don’t know how much is going to be brought out. Nowadays movies are done and they already have two or three others planned out.”
“So stuff you do in this one, you ask ‘Why aren’t we doing this?’ and they say, ‘Well be patient!”
Rooker stars alongside Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Glenn Close, Peter Serafinowicz and John C Reilly. Earlier this week, Bradley Cooper was confirmed as the voice of Rocket Raccoon.
Guardians of the Galaxy will hit cinemas on August 1 2014.
