2K announces ’30 Years of WrestleMania’ mode for WWE 2K14

2K Games today announced a brand-new groundbreaking single-player campaign mode for the upcoming WWE 2K14.

’30 Years of WrestleMania’ will feature iconic WrestleMania matches spanning three decades of WWE history, starting with the inaugural WrestleMania and covering more than 45 matches, including Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant from WrestleMania 3, The Rock vs Hollywood Hogan from WrestleMania X8 and John Cena vs The Rock from WrestleMania 28.

The campaign’s format will be shaped by five distinct eras in WWE history, with unique presentation taking players through those eras. It it will feature authentically-recreated areanas, Superstar entrances and ring attires, as well as graphics specific to that era, including screen filters and other elements. Additionally, there will also be extensive WWE-produced video packages and in-game cutscenes designed to set the stage for the matches and provide background to those bouts. Players will also be encouraged to authentically replicate popular match elements through historical objectives, which when completed will unlock rewards such as additional playable superstars, extra attires, new arenas and archive WWE photos.

Chris Snyder, 2K’s Senior Director of Marketing, has been quoted in today’s press release;

“Through the ’30 Years of WrestleMania Mode’ in WWE 2K14, players can now relive their favorite nostalgic and recent WrestleMania moments – from an incredible roster to authentic presentation and match play – in a unique and engaging way.”

The ’30 Years of WrestleMania’ mode is of course inspired by next year’s milestone – WrestleMania 30, taking place in New Orleans.

WWE 2K14 will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will be released in North America on October 29 and internationally on November 1.
