Sony’s Andrew House has announced the release date for their next generation console PlayStation 4, the announcement was made during the firm’s GamesCom Press Conference this Afternoon.
PlayStation 4 will cost £349 (UK)/$399 (US)/€399 (EU), and will be released to the following regions:
- 15th November: US and Canada
- 29th November: SCEE territories including UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zeland, Poland, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Finland, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Norway
- 29th November: Latin America including Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama and Peru
Along with this confirmed release date, Sony have also announced their 33 launch fame titles that will be made available by the end of the year in 32 countries during the Winter season. Also in the big PlayStation announcements is the news that the PS4 will support the gaming community video platform Twitch, which will be easily implemented via the controller’s share button.

Along with the launch line-up, Sony have announced that each system will come pre-installed with PlayRoom and a tutorial session for players to become accustomed to the console’s new DueShock 4 features such as the front touch pad and light bar. For those picking up the New PlayStation Camera, you will be able to utilize it’s Augmented Reality function and play PlayRoom titles that will be unreachable to others, including AR Bots, Play with ASOBI and AR Hockey.
The PlayStation 4 has already passed 1 million pre-orders around the world.
