PayPal comes to UK High Streets

Pay Pal UK High Street Header

PayPal have launched a new trial that allow it’s mobile apps to be used to make payments in high street stores.

Initially launching in Richmond, the service has been picked up by various cafes, restaurants and shops, and allows consumers to ‘check in’ to locations to pay for goods and services.

This will mean that wallets or purses can be left at home, and stores are not forced to turn people away if they are not carrying cash or a payment card.

The PayPal app is available for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices, while the participating Richmond pioneers include Cook & Garcia, The Farmery, The Bingham Hotel, Caffé Paolo, The Cedar Coffee Shop, Urban Diner, Pier 1 Fish and Chips, Knot Coffee, Pretzel, and many more.
