Christopher Nolan is reportedly no longer involved in the Man of Steel sequel.
On the press release put out by Warner Bros. following the announcement of Ben Affleck’s appearance in the movie as Batman, the names of Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas were conspicuous by their absence.
The two served as producers on Man of Steel, with Nolan also involved in writing the story. In the original announcement for the MoS sequel, he was listed as an executive producer – a token credit most times, anyway – and now he has disappeared completely. He is currently working on his latest project, Interstellar, and it seems that has ruled him out of reprising his role on the much-anticipated Superman vs Batman outing.
However, there is a wrinkle to this, as BoxOfficeMojo reporter Ray Subers has tweeted that Warner Bros. told him that Nolan and Thomas are still involved, but he did add that it is “very odd” that they aren’t named in the press release.
@ThePlaylist On Friday WB told me the Nolans were still EPs. But I agree, it is very odd that they weren’t in the press release.
