Kevin Feige has claimed that Marvel have plans in place for movies over the next eight years,
In an interview with WIRED, the Marvel head revealed the scope that the company have with their characters going into the future, with planned sequels for Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, as well as non-Avengers outings such Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man, as well as two announced release dates for two unannounced movies.
“I could arguably say what we’re planning for the year 2021. Will that happen? I don’t know. But what we planned for 2015 in 2006 is happening.”
“Five years ago, looking at our plan, we knew that if Avengers was going to work, the movies had to stand alone. Now we have to prove to the studio that we’re more than just these five characters, these five franchises.”
Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron will complete Phase Two of the Cinematic Universe, with Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier coming before them. Phase Three will kick off immediately following the Avengers sequel, with Ant-Man’s planned release coming just three months following that film. Working on their current pacing, by the time 2021 comes around they will firmly be into Phase Four.
Just waiting on that Doctor Strange announcement now….
