The massively controversial biographical movie for the late Chris Benoit named Crossface is apparently still scheduled to start production at some point next year. Apparently the movie’s script will be based off of the book Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit and the Fall of the Pro Wrestling Industry by Matt Randazzo, which has been widely criticized in the Pro-Wrestling world for it’s supposed factual inaccuracies.
Rumors had been circulating that Liev Schreiber had been signed on to play The Canadian Crippiler himself but mere hours later his Agent had come forward to deny these claims. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, official casting isn’t expected to get “serious for several months“.
In 2007 World Wrestling Entertainment had erased any memory of Chris Benoit in their records following the night he Murdered both his Wife and Son before taking his own life, six years on it still seems highly unlikely that the WWE will reverse their decision.
