WWE are reportedly preparing plans to a Comic-Con-style annual convention.
PWInsider claim that the company are still in the early planning stages, and have just started issuing surveys to fans to gauge interest on what sort of attractions would be wanted at such an event. Early indications are that WWE would treat the event as more like a comic book convention than the AXXESS events that they currently promote. The proposed convention would run from Thursday to Sunday in the same market as a major pay-per-view, although I personally cannot see this happening with any event other than WrestleMania.
It would be likely that such an event would host autograph and photo sessions, interactive contests, a viewing area for PPVs and other shows, a videogame lounge, live matches taking place likely featuring NXT talent, and possibly also panels with WWE executives, current and former talent, and maybe even writers.
The early plans are to have general and VIP tickets, with the VIP passes costing in the $100-$150 price range. Markets under early consideration are said to include New York, Orlando, New Orleans, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
