Sky to update Sky+ HD box with built-in Wi-Fi

Sky are to upgrade their Sky+ HD boxes for the first time with the inclusion of built-in Wi-Fi.

New customers will be able to use the box to access on-demand content without the use of an Ethernet cable. It is unclear at the moment if existing Sky customers will be able to get the box for free, or they will be charged the current price of £21.95

Sky’s Jeremy Darroch has spoken about the box.

“This will ensure every new customer will be connected automatically, and we’ll also roll out this box selectively to existing customers who don’t yet have an HD box.”

The new box will be available from September.
