The Rock Reveals WCW Tried to Sign Him

The Rock has revealed that he received an offer to jump ship from the WWF to WCW during the Monday Night Wars.

Speaking in response to a question put to him on Twitter, Rock revealed the job proposal.

“Yup in the beginning. Offered 2xs my WWE salary. No thank you. My goal was to ‘move the crowd’ first. Money would come later.”

Rock doesn’t specify whether “in the beginning” relates to the start of the Monday Night Wars in 1995, or the start of his WWF career in late 1996. Either way, it would still have amounted to WCW paying a huge salary to a very young and inexperienced performer.

What do you think would have happened if Rock has departed the WWF and moved to the other side? Sound off in the comments below.
