Marvel’s Guardians gets new logo, concept art

Marvel have released new concept art for Guardians of the Galaxy, showing off the now-confirmed cast members.

During their panel at Comic-Con last night, the studio showed off some new footage to the crowd, and also confirmed their cast, which up to now had only been rumoured. The clip shown ended with a police line up-style shot of the five Guardians – Chris Pratt’s Star Lord, Dave Bautista’s Drax, Zoe Saldana’s Gamora, and the CG Groot and Rocket Raccoon. The CG characters voices were not heard during the video, so still no clue on who will voice them as of yet.

The line-up shot also forms the new concept art released by Marvel;

Notice the shadows, foreshadowing the people/trees/raccoons that our line-up will go on to be. During the press interviews following the panel, the film’s director James Gunn stated that the footage is not likely become pubic, so we’ll have to wait until the first trailer to see what the lucky Con visitors witnessed. It was also stated that they have only been filming for around ten days.

Guardians of the Galaxy is due for release in August 2014.
