Aaron Taylor-Johnson has confirmed that he has held talks over a role in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The Kick-Ass 2 star revealed that he was approached for the role of Quicksilver in the Marvel sequel, and met with director Joss Whedon and studio bosses.

“I feel really flattered and honoured that they came to me for that role. I think he’s an interesting character and we’re just gonna keep going into that. I sat down with Joss, I think he’s awesome, I sat down with the guys at Marvel and they’re also great; I think it’d be interesting.”

He also admitted that idea of signing a Marvel contract – which usually guarantees appearances in anywhere up to 6+ movies – is “nerve-wracking“. The actor has been strongly linked with the role of Quicksilver virtually since Whedon confirmed the character’s appearance in the movie.

Kick-Ass 2 is out in August, while The Avengers: Age of Ultron is due in cinemas on May 1 2015.
