Batman Beyond Movie is “Back on the Table”

Speculation is growing that Warner Bros. are considering moving on with a feature-film adaption of the Batman Beyond animated series.

Batman-on-Film are reporting that Warner – with Christopher Nolan’s Bat-Universe definitely finished – are looking at revisiting Beyond plans. A project was in development before being passed over in favour of Nolan’s heralded Dark Knight saga. If the rumours are true, it would be completely separate of Nolan’s Bat-story, and according to the website, the plans are definitely “back on the table“.

In the Beyond story, an agony Bruce Wayne selects and trains 17-year old Terry McGinnis to be his successor. Adapting the story to the big screen would allow Warner the option to feature a ‘in-his-prime’ Batman in an ensemble (Justice League) outing, and then switching to a semi-retired Batman in a Beyond movie. Same Batman, different time periods. It’s an intriguing possibility, at the very least.
