SEGA have today announced their line up for this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, which will include some of the companies biggest and titles along with some classic names too.
Sonic Lost World
Looks like ol’ Spikey is back on the Wii U and this E3 will make the playable debut of SEGA’s most famous mascot’s new title in Sonic Lost World. In this Wii U exclusive Sonic must go up against The Deadly Six, who promise to be the Hedgehog’s biggest foes to date. Introducing new colour powers along with a set of Parkour skills, Sonic must race through new and old levels in a bid to beat the bad guys.
Looking like a mix of classic 2D Sonic mixed with Mario Galaxy and utilising the Wii U gyro and touch controls, could this bring SEGA’s blue speedster back on top form?
Castle of Illusion: Starring Micky Mouse
I have fond memories when it comes to Castle of Illusion on the Mega Drive (Genesis to our Yanky brethren) and I like many children of the 90’s had gotten a little excited over the return of a legend in platform gaming. Well this HD remake is so much more than a lick of paint as the title has been recreated in same infrastructure as the original to supposedly allow decades old muscle memory to kick in with old school console gamers. Just as Sonic Lost worlds, E3 will be the first chance for a hands with Castle of Illusion before it’s release on Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network Store and Steam later this Summer.
Company of Heroes 2
One of the biggest strategy games out their is getting it’s now eagerly awaited squeal in Company of Heroes 2. Attendees of this years E3 will not only be able to just get their hands on with the game as a far few people already have, they will get to play new a campaign level called ‘Land Bridge to Leningrad’ which will be exclusive to the event until the release of Company of Heroes 2 later this month.
Total War: ROME II
Another hands on first for E3 with ROME II, allowing players to “experience the thrilling battles between Egypt and Rome on the banks of the River Nile”. Also shown will be the game’s campaign map, new features and other details.
Ever since E3 2012 Ron Gilbert’s The Cave has been turning heads up to and during the title’s release. Well what you may not have known is that there is a mobile version on it’s way and it will be shown off for the first tie at E3 2013. Playing the game myself I found it very similar to Manic Manson and Day of the Testicle combined with Platforming and some good old LucasArts references thrown in for good measure.
