Saints Row IV banned in Australia

Saints Row 4 has been refused classification in Australia, prohibiting it from being sold in the country.

Australian Government Classification Board made their decision on the grounds that the title implied sexual violence without suitable context. A statement read:

“In the Board’s opinion, Saints Row IV, includes interactive, visual depictions of implied sexual violence which are not justified by context.”

“In addition, the game includes elements of illicit or proscribed drug use related to incentives or rewards. Such depictions are prohibited by the computer games guidelines.”

The game will now legally not be allowed to be sold or publicly displayed in retail stores in the country.

Saint’s Row 4 will be released in Europe on August 23, and three days earlier on August 20 in North America.
