E3: We get our first look at Bungie’s Destiny

Sony have just shown off the first gameplay of highly-anticipated MMO FPS Destiny.

The Bungie title was first announced at the PlayStation 4 reveal event, and has now had it’s first public viewing with a demo.

It begins just outside of the massive city walls that house the last great human civilization. The scene quickly moves underground, showing off the game’s impressive lighting tech, as well as multiple new weapons including a futuristic assault rifle and pistol.

After a brief firefight, a look at the game’s menus reveal a weapon skill tree and an elaborate weapon upgrading/socketing system.

Later in the demo, Bungie’s trademark wide-open combat sandbox was on full display. A team of players worked together, using a variety of weapons and skills, to take down a Spider Tank.

The demo finished with confirmation that a variety of “exclusive content” will come to the PS4 version of the game, though no further details were given.
