A new Sonic the Hedgehog title has been announced at the Nintendo Direct event.

Sonic Lost World is described as an action-adventure platforming game, with more details about the game promised for the E3 show in June. The title will be exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS.

The game reveal came as part of the announcement of a new worldwide partnership between Nintendo and SEGA.

Laurent Fischer, Managing Director of European Marketing and PR at Nintendo of Europe, said in a press release;

“We’re delighted to be forming this new partnership with SEGA, and bringing new games in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise to Nintendo systems. We hope fans are as excited as we are when more details will be shown closer to E3.”

No date has yet been given for the game’s release.
