Rayman Legends is coming to the PlayStation Vita

Ubisoft have today announced that the eagerly awaited follow up to Rayman Origins called Rayman Legends will be ported to yet another console, but this time it is Sony’s handheld the PlayStation Vita.

The Vita port of the game will include all the original Rayman Legends content from the home console versions, along with five exclusive maps of it’s own. Originally a Wii U specific feature, Murphy the greenbottle fly can be controlled via the PSV’s rear touch pad.

Vita fans will also be able to indulge in multiplayer modes with other handheld players over Wi-Fi (locked to your own country unfortunately) and will also be treated to a Rayman Prince of Persia costume and some Splinter Cell garb for Globox.

To celebrate the news, Ubisoft have released a PS Vita themed trailer which you can watch below:

Originally set for release last year in November as a Wii U exclusive, Legends had been delayed for nearly a year so it could be ported to other consoles.

Rayman Legends will (hopefully) see it’s release on the 30th August in European territories and the 3rd September in North America for the Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and now the PlayStation Vita.
