NHL ’14 not coming to next-gen consoles, EA confirm

EA Sports have confirmed that NHL ’14 will not be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

During Microsoft’s new console reveal event last night, EA franchise titles FIFA, Madden, UFC and NBA were announced for the Xbox One, but the company have announced in a statement to IGN that the ice hockey game won’t follow suit and will stay on Xbox 360 and PS3 as scheduled.

NHL ’14 will not be available for Xbox One or PlayStation 4 this year. Our team is laser-focused on delivering the greatest hockey experience to-date on the Xbox 360 and PS3, grounded in the speed, skill, and aggression of the sport. We look forward to developing a best-in-class hockey experience for new platforms in the future.”

NHL ’14 is due for release on September 13.
