The Rock’s Raw Absence Explained

It appears we have the reason that The Rock will not be appearing on Raw tonight.

A short time ago, The Rock sent out a tweet claiming that during his WrestleMania 29 match with John Cena, he tore his “abdomen and adductor muscles off the bone”.

In the opening moments of tonight’s show, WWE acknowledged the injury. Mike Johnson over at PWInsider is reporting that Rock left abruptly following WrestleMania after WWE doctors informed him of the injury. Rock is due to start filming on Hercules shortly, so he flew home to get treatment for the injury.

Earlier there were reports of major heat on Rock for not showing up at Raw. As it turns out, the majority of the locker room were not aware of the situation. Therefore, the level of heat on Rock as now reduced greatly, though there are still some grumbles that he wasn’t able to appear on the show, even just to cut a promo.
