SEGA Announce Castle of Illusion HD Remake

Castle of Ilusion Header

SEGA have officially confirmed that a HD remake of the Mega Drive (Genesis) Disney platformer Castle of Illusion Staring Mickey Mouse is coming.

Fans of the original title will remember that Castle of Illusion sees  you taking the lead role of Mickey Mouse in a side-scrolling platform adventure that’ll set you on a mission to rescue Minnie Mouse from the evil witch Mizrabel in the titular Castle of Illusion.

Along with the boosted HD lick of paint, according to the press release Castle of Illusion will also will feature a re-mastered version of the original “catchy soundtrack” and extended gameplay.

With the confirmation of the title’s re-release comes a new trailer and some screenshots below:

The screenshots below give us a good taste of the fantastic looking scenery and even some of the bad guys you’ll be up against (Oh the spiders, I forgot about those damn spiders).

Castle of Illusion 4

Castle of Illusion Staring Mickey Mouse will see its release at some point this Summer, making its way to Xbox LIVE Arcade, PlayStation Network and Steam platforms.

After the Announcement of a HD remake for Capcom and Disney’s Ducktales and now this… I’m hoping Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck aren’t far behind.

For more information then head on over to SEGA.
