New Star Wars film every year starting from 2015

At the CinemaCon event in Las Vegas earlier today, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that beginning in 2015 with the much-anticipated Episode VII, there will be a new Star Wars film released every summer.

The released movies will alternate between the new trilogy and the standalone films that there have already been so many rumours about. As is stands, Episode VIII will drop in 2017, while the final part of the trilogy will arrive in 2019.

Episode VII is of course being directed by JJ Abrams, and will reportedly reunite Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.
