More on The Rock’s Injury; Doubt Over His WWE Future?

More details have emerged concerning The Rock and his absence from Raw last night.

We reported earlier that Rock suffered an injury during his WrestleMania 29 match with John Cena, something Rock later confirmed. It has now been revealed, via Mike Johnson at PWInsider, that as well as suffering abdomen and abductor muscle tears, Rock also suffered a hernia.

Following the pay-per-view, Rock flew back to Miami to be examined by his doctors. WWE officials were not aware of this, and only became aware at approximately 3pm, when Rock notified them. This caused the frantic show re-writes.

As we stated previously, the heat that was initially on Rock for pulling out of the show has largely dissipated, and there is now a lot of concern over his condition. On last night’s Raw, it was announced that The Rock is the number one contender to the WWE Championship, but depending on the severity of the injuries, plus his ever-growing movie career, there is doubt that Rock will ever return to the ring.
