All’s been quiet on Saint’s Row IV since the purchase of the title along with Volition from THQ, but not anymore!
In a statement sent out by publisher Deep Silver today, not only do we have the games release date, but also a brand new trailer.
Judging by the trailer, SR4 will keep that same ‘over the top’ style and Saints Row: The Third, but also manage to top that with complete Balls-out Nuttyness.
In it we can see; light-cycles, sleek robot armor, guitar case rocket launchers, ice shattering punches, censor bars that swing with a male’s manhood, a laser had makes peoples heads expand, dancing, S&M women, people jumping as high as buildings, kicks to the testicles that are so hard that the y launch people in the air, car surfing, gliding, mascots, old time classic cars, giant flying mech-suits, a man throwing a car with his hands, monster trucks, giant sentient energy drink cans and of course, explosions… lots of explosions!
You can check the trailer below, but be warned that it contains big eye messing letters and scenes of Awesomeness;
Here’s the Official Blurb for the game;
In the next open-world installment of Saints Row, Deep Silver Volition continues the story of the Third Street Saints by elevating their status to the highest level – the leaders of the free world. In Saints Row IV, the head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States. But the Saints are just getting started. Now the larger-than-life insanity of the Saints series gets a new twist with a catastrophic alien invasion, and the aliens have transported the Saints to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp. Escape the simulation that’s trapped the Saints crew, or die trying.
Saints Row IV lets players delve into an arsenal of alien weaponry and technology that will turn each Saint into an ultimate entity of destruction. Utilize out-of-this-world superpowers to fight all the way to the top. With intensified action and enhanced customization, players can use their newfound superpowers and leap over buildings, outrun the fastest sports cars, or send enemies flying with telekinesis in the greatest, most insane installment of Saints Row yet.
Saints Row IV is due to launch on the 20th August 2013 in the US and 23rd of the same month for all other territories. It will be made available for PC, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.
Glad to see that Saints Row will keep it’s wacky style and not become just another Grand Theft Auto clone. As a fan I cannot wait, but what are your thoughts? Hit us up in the comments below;
