Man of Steel writer David S. Goyer has spoken about how happy he is that the film has remained largely a mystery ahead of it’s June release.
Talking to Total Film, Goyer revealed that there is much more to the film than what has already been seen via the trailers.
“It’s something [Christopher Nolan] tried hard to do with the Batman films…I’m genuinely pleased with how much secrecy we’ve been able to maintain. There’s so much of the movie that people don’t know, that hasn’t been touched upon. The trailer’s just the tiniest, tiniest tip of the iceberg.”
Goyer also again emphasised that Man of Steel will be taking a different approach than that of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.
“Relatable and realistic doesn’t necessarily mean dark. I think it would be inappropriate for us to approach a Superman film as if we were doing The Dark Knight. The Batman films are a lot more nihilistic – Superman has always been a story about hope.”
Man of Steel is scheduled for release on June 14.
