Disney Infinity delayed

Disney Infinity‘s release has been delayed.

A report in the New York Times confirms the news, which appears to have come at the request of retailers, possibly looking at having the game released to coincide with the holiday season. Disney have agreed with the request, moving the release date back a month, meaning it will now be released on August 18 in America, and in Europe on August 20. Disney Interactive co-President John Pleasants explained;

“The date became an issue in terms of them asking, ‘Is there a better opportunity here?’”

“We could deliver in June if we wanted to. Will a two-month timing change help us? Sure, of course. It gives us a little more time to add bells and whistles and make sure it really sings and pops.”

Disney Infinity will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U, Wii and 3DS.
