Great to see ThatGameCompany doing so well with Journey, here’s hoping that their next title will be just as beautiful and quirky. Giant Sparrow has seen giant critical acclaim with their first title The Unfinished Swan, so at this point you can bet they have something big planned to follow up. We all knew that The Walking Dead would do well as its had rave reviews from everyone, including fans, critics and industry insiders alike. Also winning a Game of the Year in 2012 from many news outlets, Telltale have got fans chomping at the bit for a followup to the horror-zombie-world adventure.

Notable winners that should also get their mention are XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which has especially gone down well with the UK gaming crowd, and LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, which with its open-world-free-roam feel of Gotham City has acted as a child-friendly alternative to the much darker, Arkham City and also with it’s massive roster of Super Heroes and Villains, has served as a DC fan boy wet dream.
