New Star Wars film to focus on the kids?

A new report claims that the new Star Wars film will focus on the offspring of the original movie’s established stars.

Showbiz411‘s Roger Friedman is claiming that JJ Abrams’ upcoming surefire-blockbuster will indeed star the original cast of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, but the main characters will be their children;

“It’s some time in the future. Han, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker will be a lot older. Their children will be the new main characters. R2D2 and C-3PO will be unchanged. The three main actors are definitely coming back…All three of the actors are still profit participants in Star Wars.”

No word yet on whether those kids will be the ones included in the expanded universe, such as Ben Skywalker, Jacen Solo, Jaina Solo and Anakin Solo, or Abrams will create brand-new characters.

Star Wars Episode VII is tentatively due for release in 2015.
