Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag confirmed by Ubisoft

Black Flag

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, the shortly rumored next installment to the AC series has now been officially confirmed by it’s publisher Ubisoft.

A few days ago we had shown a leaked image of some promotional art along with the title black flag and this morning we had shown what was believed to be the box art for the rumored title, which was also leaked (only this time via the Ubisoft forum).

Well it looks as though the box art is official, with Ubisoft releasing images for the covers to XBox 360, PS3, Wii U & PC copies of the game. The cover’s imagery confirms that this AC adventure will take place in the  rumored pirate setting, while a sticker on the PS3 version reveals the exclusive hour of gameplay (the same deal offered with Assassin’s Creed 3 and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood).

Numerous leaks over forums and comments have suggested that the game is set in 1715 and stars a pirate assassin named Edward Kenway, father of Haytham and grandfather of Connor from Assassin’s Creed 3.

While there has been no information regarding whether the new AC game will appear on the up coming PlayStation 4 and whatever gets released by Microsoft, Ubisoft have said that they will reveal the games details on Monday the 4th March at 17:00 UK time.

Expect a massive trailer for the game at this year’s E3.
