Apple take Samsung’s crown

Apple have become the number one mobile phone seller in the United States for the first time in their history.

Samsung have held that position since 2008, but Apple have now dethroned them, with a 34% market share. In the last year, Apple’s sales have improved by 4%, coming in at 52 million units in 2012, compared to 50.2 million units in 2011.

The race is still close, with Samsung holding a 32% market share, and they will hope that their forthcoming Galaxy S IV will help them reclaim the top spot from Apple.
