Sony’s CEO has said that they will wait for Microsoft to release the new Xbox before they launch the PS4.
Speaking to The Times, Kazuo Hirai has said they will let Microsoft make the first move.
“Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?”
Of course, this isn’t to be taken as literal as it sounds. The difference between the release dates of the consoles would not allow Sony sufficient time to change their new console to improve on Microsoft’s offering, but they would be able to amend marketing materials etc.
Last week it was rumoured that Sony are considering retiring the Dual Shock controller in favour of biometric sensors and an LCD touchscreen.
