Report: WWE video game license has a new home

The WWE video game franchise no longer belongs to THQ, a report has claimed.

IGN are reporting that a deal has been agreed for Take Two – parent company of 2K – to take over the franchise.

Earlier today, THQ confirmed the future of the majority of their game studios and franchises, after an auction as part of their ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. The WWE franchise was not mentioned in the official statement, and it appears that this agreement between THQ and Take Two was done outside of the formal auction process.

An official announcement is expected within the next 24 hours.
